A few months ago, Lyndon Gregorio (creator of Beerkada) talked about the power of passion versus the power of discipline. What he said at that time does makes sense.
“A person with discipline can work and get tired. A person with passion can work and never gets tired.”
Now this is not just a strategy for success. It can be a strategy for effective leadership.
It’s true that Filipinos tend to hate discipline. However, Filipinos are a passionate people. Here’s my theory: a good leader who can ignite and guide the passion of the followers towards positive means is an effective leader.
So much for my previous belief that discipline can make this country more prosperous.

If Filipinos indeed prove to be a passionate people (and I'm more inclined to agree) then we are not a lost cause. We need more people like Bayani Fernando who have the will to implement the changes we need, and guide, even coerce as to do the right thing. Just look at what he did with Marikina. Do you think the residents liked his ideas before? No! But look at what Marikina is now. Just wish we could do the same to the rest of the Philippines. That is why, I am giving my full support to BF and the MMDA and their programs. I hope you guys do too.
